The ideas that I spout are tumultous and chaotic, and thus far-ranging in topic; it is here where I attempt to understand them.

I'm not entirely sure if this is a flaw with the beta, or with my mouse. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare mouse to interchange and test.

I have a Logitech Mouseware 9.76 Optical Mouse, as far as I can gather from the product papers I still have.

Anyway, I have tested it many times by pressing firmly and squarely on the close button in the research or diplomacy screen and it has failed multiple times.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem, for I am still unsure on whether it is a bug, or just my mouse failing.

I've never had this problem, when playing in a big universe the mouse might react a bit sluggish (Trying to build a military and civilian research stations ends up being two civilian stations) but it always reacts, and I've always been able to close those windows.
I also have a Logitech mouse (Laser instead of optical) but no idea what driver I'm using...

You should be able to find the model right on the bottom of the mouse, FYI.

I'm using an MX518 with mouseware myself, no problems.

You are not clicking hard enough!

I was clicking hard enough. Any harder, and my mouse might have broken...

Hrm. Thanks, Kryo. With that, I think I have...

Aha! There it is.

Model Number MBD69.
It's probably just my mouse.

I'd really like to be able to click outside of the research/diplomacy window to close it as well, or maybe even a right click anywhere. It's annoying having only the one option

Thanks Lyze...you are right! This is on the list and hopefully will be correct shortly.
